The Eigasai 2025 Japanese Film Festival will take place from February 24 to March 2 at Prague’s Kino Lucerna. It will feature Czech premieres of contemporary Japanese films and renowned classics, presented in the original language with Czech and English subtitles. Organized by the Czech-Japanese Society in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy and Kino Lucerna, the festival showcases diverse genres and stories that offer a deeper insight into Japan’s rich culture and traditions.
The Spectaculare Festival will take place from February 28 to March 28, 2025, in various locations across Prague, such as Palác Akropolis, MeetFactory, and Kino Bio Oko. This multi-genre festival combines music with visual arts and will feature both international artists and local talent. In addition to performances and concerts, it will offer workshops and masterclasses. The festival focuses on current trends in audiovisual culture, fostering creative exchange between artists and audiences.
The Matthias Fair 2025, the most famous fair in the Czech Republic, will take place from February 22 to April 13 at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. It offers a wide range of attractions, from classic rides to modern adrenaline experiences like an 80-meter-high swing carousel and Dutch attractions. Visitors can also enjoy delicious refreshments, traditional souvenirs, and a program featuring clowns and fairy-tale characters.
The Czech-Slovak Ball 2025 will take place on February 1st at the Obecní dům in Prague. This prestigious gala event will feature performances by well-known artists such as Jana Kirschner, Janek Ledecký, Anna K, and the Gustav Brom Radio Big Band. The event aims to strengthen cultural ties between the Czech Republic and Slovakia, offering a wonderful evening filled with music, dance, and traditional Slovak folklore.
Starting February 1, 2025, the Farmer’s Market Náplavka will take place every Saturday at Rašínovo nábřeží in Prague 2. Visitors can enjoy over 90 vendors offering seasonal vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meats, and artisan goods. The market encourages sustainable shopping with reusable packaging. The event features live music, refreshments, and themed celebrations like Pink May or St. Martin’s festivities.
The Valentine’s Evening at the Botanical Garden in Troja, taking place on February 14, 2025, from 6 PM to 9 PM, offers a romantic experience for couples. Visitors will enjoy a night tour of the tropical Fata Morgana greenhouse, learn fascinating facts about plants, sip wine from the St. Clare Vineyard, and every lady will receive a rose. The event requires prior reservation and is intended for adult couples only.
Letňany’s Carnival will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025. It begins with a masked parade from the town hall to Stará Náves, where a rich program awaits, including live music, a fairy tale performance, a costume contest, and traditional Masopust treats. Children can enjoy competitions, pony rides, and more activities.
The Malá Inventura Theater Festival 2025, held from February 20 to 28 in Prague, will showcase the best in contemporary theater, including physical, dance, experimental, and visual performances. The festival will present 25 productions, featuring renowned groups like Cirk La Putyka and A studio Rubín, as well as emerging talents. The accompanying program will include lectures, music performances, discussions, and networking events. The festival will take place across 16 different Prague venues, including Palác Akropolis and Divadlo Na zábradlí, focusing on innovative approaches to contemporary theater.
The 13+ Festival Theater v Dlouhé, running from February 4th to 8th, 2025, focuses on themes related to adolescence, identity search, and sexual initiation. This non-competitive festival will feature performances from professional theaters outside Prague, aimed at young audiences. The festival addresses important topics such as first sex, unplanned pregnancies, and finding one’s place in the adult world. After each performance, there will be discussions with creators and performers to deepen the conversation about the presented themes.
The Věčná naděje Music Festival 2025 will take place in February and March, offering a unique musical and cultural experience that explores the Czech, Jewish, and German cultures and their mutual influence during World War II. The festival aims to highlight the works of composers who created in concentration camps, focusing on the themes of humanity and eternal hope. The program includes concerts and performances at various venues in Prague, featuring renowned artists such as Radek Baborák, Emil Viklický, and Marek Kozák.
