On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the banks of the Vltava River in Prague’s Smíchov district will come alive with an authentic Czech tradition. Vepřové hody at Prague Louka will offer a full-day program filled with aromas, flavors, and winter comfort in a unique outdoor venue just a few steps from Smíchov Railway Station.
The event is an ideal opportunity to enjoy traditional Czech pig slaughterhouse feasts in an authentic atmosphere – with great food, beer, and fun for the whole family. From 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., visitors can look forward to classic Czech specialties prepared on site. There will be jitrnice (liver sausages), jelítka (blood sausages), tlačenka (head cheese), prejt, boiled pork (ovar), and hearty pork soup (prdelačka). The kitchen and smokehouse will also offer homemade goulash, fresh aspic (sulc), crispy pork cracklings, and smoked pork belly, all inseparable parts of winter feasts.
Good food naturally goes hand in hand with good drinks. Visitors can enjoy perfectly poured Pilsner beer on tap, as well as stronger spirits to help keep warm. The entire day will be accompanied by live music, creating a lively village-style atmosphere and keeping the energy high.
Families with children and active visitors are also well catered for. The venue will feature a winter activity trail with tasks, a shooting range, the popular tug-of-war, and a fire pit for roasting sausages, perfect for moments of relaxation. The day will conclude with a raffle featuring attractive prizes, adding an extra dose of excitement and fun.
Vepřové hody at Prague Louka are the perfect choice for anyone who loves traditional Czech cuisine, a friendly atmosphere, and spending a winter day outdoors with family or friends. If you are looking for an authentic gastronomic experience combined with entertainment in a beautiful riverside setting, this is an event you definitely shouldn’t miss.
