The 2026 season once again features more than 60 concerts of sacred music at St. Nicholas Church on Malostranské Square. When visiting this magnificent Baroque church, you’ll also have the opportunity to see the historic organ played by Mozart himself in 1787. In addition to its remarkable history, you can enjoy unforgettable orchestral, organ, chamber, and choral concerts performed by Prague musicians, many of whom are members of the National Theatre and the Czech Philharmonic. The concerts are performed by a chamber trio consisting of flute, viola, and piano, creating an intimate and memorable musical experience.
Summer 2026 marks the 15th edition of this prestigious international organ festival. Set within the magnificent surroundings of St. Vitus Cathedral, the festival features up to ten concert evenings performed by acclaimed organists from the Czech Republic, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria. This year’s edition is particularly special, as it will be the first time the cathedral’s long-awaited new organ, built by Gerhard Grenzing and his team in Barcelona, will be heard in concert. Performances begin at 7:00 PM and last approximately 70 minutes.
At Smetana Hall in the Municipal House, one of Prague’s most beautiful concert venues, you can enjoy masterpieces such as Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, performed by the Dvořák Symphony Orchestra in an intimate chamber arrangement featuring harpsichord, solo vocals, and solo violin. Smetana Hall also hosts the popular Gala Opera and Ballet performances, presented by the Dvořák Symphony Orchestra together with leading Czech opera singers and ballet soloists. From August 6 to September 24, 2026, the Basilica of St. James the Greater in Prague’s Old Town comes alive with the traditional International Organ Festival. Throughout August and September, internationally renowned organists perform on the largest organ in the Czech Republic. Concerts take place every Thursday at 7:00 PM. The majestic sound of this remarkable instrument, enhanced by the basilica’s outstanding acoustics and breathtaking Baroque interior, guarantees an unforgettable cultural experience and a perfect way to spend a Thursday evening.
From September 5 to 23, 2026, Prague will host the 19th edition of the Dvořák Prague Festival, dedicated to the legacy of the great Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Prague’s annual Summer Festivities of Early Music returns once again! From July 16 to August 5, the festival presents concerts in historic churches, palaces, and gardens throughout the city. The program features leading European ensembles performing on authentic period instruments, with performances ranging from Renaissance polyphony and Italian Baroque opera to the music of the Orient and Occident and English viol consorts. The festival concludes with a spectacular final concert celebrating mythical figures through the operas of George Frideric Handel and the secular cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach.
