This summer, Vajdahunyad Castle comes alive again with House Piknik, where top-quality house and tech-house beats take over. On August 10, international DJs like Silvie Loto and Classmatic join renowned local acts for an all-day, all-night celebration. The unique venue offers a free pre-party and exclusive VIP experience.

Between August 6 and 13, the Candle Lake concert series transforms the Városliget Lake into a dreamlike setting with floating candles and a live string quartet performing Coldplay’s most beloved hits. Each concert begins at 9 PM and promises an unforgettable musical and visual experience under the open sky.

In August, the Candlelight concert series returns to Budapest for three enchanting nights at the Corinthia Hotel. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Coldplay’s greatest hits, and fantasy soundtracks from Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones will be brought to life by string quartets in a romantic candlelit setting.

From August 17 to 20, the Buda Castle becomes Hungary’s biggest open-air celebration of traditional crafts. The Budapest Summer Social is a three-day, three-night international bachata festival running from August 22–25. Featuring world-class artists, DJs, and instructors, the event combines daytime workshops with high-energy night parties and concerts. Held at Lurdy House and MTA-MMSZ, it offers a full-sensory dance experience for true bachata lovers.

On August 23, sci-fi fans take over Ferencvárosi Cultural Center for the Galaxy Festival – a one-day celebration of iconic universes like Star Wars, Dune, Star Trek, and Alien. Expect cosplay, gaming zones, interactive exhibits, and a market packed with geek treasures. Come dressed up – participation is the essence.

On August 30–31, Budapest turns into a glowing track for the Generali Night Run. With routes through iconic locations like the Chain Bridge and Danube promenade, participants can choose from 5, 7, 12, or 21 km distances. Music, glowing wristbands, and a festival vibe make this a city run to remember.

On August 30, the Bartók Quarter becomes a vibrant hub of music, creativity, and community. Bartók Fest offers open workshops, kids’ programs, live concerts, and a showcase of local civil initiatives. Focused on sharing, cooperation, and sustainable urban life, this free event welcomes everyone to participate and contribute.

On August 16, Aeropark hosts the Night of the Airport – a special evening filled with aviation history, cockpit visits, and technical showcases. Highlights include the nostalgic Li-2 flight, behind-the-scenes airport tours, and interactive hangar visits. It’s an immersive journey for families, fans, and future pilots alike.

From August 6–11, Sziget Festival returns to Óbuda Island with a world-class lineup featuring Dua Lipa, Kendrick Lamar, and The Killers. Beyond music, the festival offers circus acts, theater, workshops, and civil initiatives – all in the spirit of freedom, creativity, and sustainability. Sziget is more than a concert – it’s a world of its own.
