Margaret Island Open-Air Stage

August once again brings a season of exceptional cultural experiences to the Margitsziget Open-Air Stage. World-famous musical masterpieces, spectacular stage productions, large-scale concerts, and unique performances will take turns on the iconic stage set at the foot of the Water Tower.

The unique atmosphere of the Margitsziget Open-Air Stage is special not only because of its performances. Under the starry sky and surrounded by the peaceful setting of Margaret Island, every open-air event becomes an unforgettable experience. Throughout the summer season, visitors can enjoy a diverse program ranging from opera and ballet to contemporary concerts and popular music performances.

One of the highlights of the August program is Verdi’s classic opera, Nabucco, which will be performed on August 13 and August 15. This spectacular production brings one of the most celebrated works of the operatic repertoire to life with impressive staging, a live orchestra, and outstanding soloists.

On August 6, audiences can enjoy a concert by the Leander Symphonic Choir, followed on August 8 by a special musical evening, A Summer Evening – Kökény Attila & Rakonczai Viktor.

On August 19, The Flame of Heritage – Masterpieces with the Concert Orchestra of the 100-Member Gypsy Orchestra offers a unique musical experience, presenting Hungarian and international classical masterpieces in the orchestra’s distinctive style.

On August 22, Amadeus Live arrives at Margaret Island, combining the magic of cinema with a live orchestral performance for a truly immersive audiovisual experience. At the end of the month, on August 26, the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company presents Black Swan, a ballet thriller that blends classical ballet with modern theatrical elements.

The August program concludes on August 29 with a concert by Róbert Szikora and R-GO, promising a spectacular evening of nostalgia and the band’s iconic “Csikidám” spirit.
