1. Indian Food Festival 

This time, Botellón Terrace will take its guests to India from 21 to 23 September. Immerse yourself in some of the world’s most ancient cuisines, dishes of the land of powerful flavours and spices. The vibrant, diverse world of India will offer a wealth of delicious cuisine for all visitors.

2. Contemporary Art Fair 

The first edition of the Contemporary Art Fair will be held at the Bálna Events Centre from 21 to 24 September. The fair will feature a number of stunning galleries covering thousands of square metres. The event will provide an insight into the art and work of leading contemporary galleries and connect the public with the artists.

3. Generali Night Run 

Run through the beautifully lit Budapest as part of the Generali Night Run. Participants will start from Castle Garden Bazaar and will run along the Chain Bridge, the Tunnel and Buda Castle. There will be several distances to choose from, and the half marathon can even be run in relay.

4. Asian Streetfood Market

Take an exciting culinary journey to the Far East from 14 to 16 September. This time, you can taste the flavours of Asian street food at the Botellón Terrace. Let’s open autumn with great food and exotic drinks!

5. Lively Fall Festival

Lively Fall is the closing festival of the summer with family, art and music programs on Bartók Béla Boulevard. There will be theatre and gastronomic events, and interesting workshops. Local history walks will give you a closer look at Bartók Béla Boulevard and you’ll be able to see exquisite exhibitions as well.

6. International Book Festival

The International Book Festival will kick off September with a great atmosphere and lots of books. You’ll have the chance to meet your favourite authors, discover new releases and get your books signed. This year’s focus will be on the Netherlands, with a number of renowned Dutch authors visiting the event, as well as John Scalzi, American science fiction writer, as guest of honour.

7. Bartók Music Festival

The Bartók Quarter is hosting a full day of events on 2 September. The Bartók Music Festival will feature a series of exciting workshops, talks, children’s and adult activities to get to know Újbuda better. There will also be fantastic concerts, including Ivan & The Parazol, Bohemian Betyars and Noémi Barkóczi.

8. Independent Records Fair

Support Hungarian independent record labels on 23 September at the Hungarian House of Music. At the Independent Label Fair’s event you can get first-hand access to your choice of CD, cassette or vinyl. The fair aims to create an event that goes beyond the mainstream music world and showcases labels with timeless values.

9. Culture Festival at Bakáts Square

Open the autumn with a free family festival on Bakáts Square. From 1 to 3 September, visitors can enjoy exhibitions, puppet shows, film screenings and literary talks. What’s more, there will also be a series of great concerts for children and adults.

10. Marczibányi Square Cultural Centre

If you are looking for exciting cultural events, you should visit the Marczibányi Square Cultural Centre. Every week, the Marczi offers a wide range of activities, including theatre performances, art and children’s programs. In addition, international and national performers and bands often visit the centre, giving great concerts in a variety of genres.
