Few events in Europe combine a world-class music festival, a cultural gathering, an artistic hub, and a week-long escape quite like Sziget Festival. For more than three decades, Sziget has earned its reputation as one of the continent’s most iconic festivals. Every summer, visitors from around the world gather on Budapest’s famous island to celebrate music, freedom, and unforgettable shared experiences.
From August 11 to 15, 2026, the festival returns for five days to Hajógyári Island in the heart of Budapest—known worldwide by festivalgoers as the Island of Freedom. Surrounded by the Danube, the lush island transforms into a vibrant festival city featuring multiple stages, art venues, food courts, sports activities, and community spaces. The venue is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle, or even by boat.
Beyond its world-famous concerts, Sziget offers an incredible variety of experiences, including:
Theatre performances
Circus shows
Contemporary art installations
Workshops
Sports activities
Community events
International cultural showcases
Every year, hundreds of performances and activities make the festival one of Europe’s most diverse cultural events.
