1. City Hall Film Festival

The Film Festival in front of Vienna´s Rathaus has been a symbol of the summer and the city itself for many years. This year, a programme has been arranged for all fans of the great cinema. Come and appreciate Vienna´s unique blend of culture, cuisine, and flair. Europe’s greatest cultural and culinary festival will return to the heart of Vienna from July 1 to September 3, 2023. Expect a light-hearted summer celebration that mixes the finest food pleasures with unrivalled musical highlights! Many culinary stands will be present, as usual, to serve snacks and refreshments to all visitors.

2. Pop Fest Vienna

The 14th Popfest Wien will take place on and around Karlsplatz from July 27 to 30, 2023. Last year, the tailored event for Austrian pop music returned to Vienna’s Karlsplatz with roughly 60,000 visitors, precisely as it did before the pandemic. Together with globally renowned electronic artist Dorian Concept, Viennese musician and director Anna Mabo will be in charge of the programme for the next Popfest Wien. This year as well, you can expect another round of great musical acts and performances, together with drinks and refreshments to keep you full of energy.

3. Kaleidoskop Film Festival

An urban film festival returns to Karlsplatz this year for its fifth edition, honouring film and cinema cultures in public areas. Kaleidoskop presents summer evenings with modern cinema that brings the diversity of coexistence in urban environments to the screen. On fifteen evenings, the screen becomes a kaleidoscope of cinematic forms, urban places, everyday realities, and various stories. Every evening, other accompanying events such as concerts, performances, readings, and conversations with artists have been prepared to complete the overall atmosphere of the Kaleidoskop Film Festival.

4. Montur & Pulveerdampf Medieval Festival

Field camps, artillery exercises, show battles, medieval market, handicrafts and music will make the past come alive at this month´s edition of the Montur and Pulverdampf Medieval Festival. Rich and varied children’s program awaits every brave damsel and knight on both days of this two-day event! The highlight of the festival will once again be the “Living Chess,” “Fire Show,” and performances by various re-enactment ensembles. And of course, those who will come dressed in a historical costume will get a free ticket to the festival.

5. STROMKLANG Festival

The STROMKLANG festival is once again back in Vienna with its summer edition. Vienna’s first one-day music festival will be held on three stages in Spittelau, in front of and within the club das WERK Wien. The event celebrates the diversity of Austrian musicians by bringing together live concerts and electronic music in one location. The highest music quality is promised once again this year, and the festival is free, as it was last year. So, come spend the day with us on July 8th and enjoy the one-of-a-kind STROMKLANG festival.

6. Amadeus Festival Vienna

The AMADEUS Festival Vienna is a significant annual event dedicated to spreading the beauty of classical music through open-air concerts on Vienna´s AMADEUS International School’s picturesque campus. In just a few years from its conception, it has accumulated a huge fan base that can appreciate the sound of a classical concert together with its open-air concept. This year’s AMADEUS Festival features numerous top classical music artists, including Janoska Ensemble, Ferhan&Ferzan Önder, and Vienna Boys Choir.

7. ImpulsTanz Festival

ImpulsTanz is an International dance festival that takes place in Vienna every year. Lots of different performers from around the globe come here to show their talent to the public. This year as well, plenty of shows from contemporary, to hip-hop or even ballet will take place at various locations in Vienna. From performances, exhibitions to workshops: there are plenty of things to pique your interest and entertain you for the whole duration of the festival. This year, around 134 international teachers have been invited to create a program with more than 200 various workshops.

8. Kultursommer Vienna

The best cultural festival in Vienna will be taking place from the end of June till August 13th. Find out what is happening at one of the Kultursommer´s readings, poetry slams, cabarets, dance performances or even musical acts such as jazz, folklore or pop. More than 1000 different shows are waiting for you, together with the best artists showing off their skills at this summer-long cultural festival designed for young and old. The admission to the festival is free so do not hesitate and have a look at the program to not miss your favorite event. An extensive children and family-friendly programme has been prepared as well!

9. Calle Libre Festival

International artists will perform at the Nordwestbahnhof for the 10th edition of the Calle Libre Festival, the best street art and music festival in Vienna. All that can be expected from July 27th to August 5th, when a separate festival area will be created in collaboration with the City of Vienna and the ÖBB, offering visitors not only art and music but also refreshment and relaxation. There will be live painting stations, workshops, music, children’s entertainment, and plenty of food. As a highlight of this street art and music festival, there is an amazing sculpture park.

10. Summerstage at the Donaukanal
