From July 4 to September 6, 2026, Europe’s largest cultural and culinary festival will once again take place in the heart of Vienna. The City of Vienna cordially invites you to the 36th Film Festival at Vienna City Hall Square!
For over 35 years, the City of Vienna has invited guests to free cultural events at Vienna City Hall Square every summer. Over 64 days, the Film Festival offers a unique combination of top-class music productions and first-class gastronomy under the open sky. There is also an entertaining and age-appropriate program for children – the “Children’s Opera Festival.”

In 2026, the Film Festival deliberately presents a particularly appealing cultural offering with crowd-pleasers that have filled concert halls, theaters, and opera houses worldwide.
