From September 4–6, the Budafok Champagne and Wine Festival will once again take place, welcoming visitors for three days with wines, sparkling wines, gastronomic experiences, concerts, and cultural programs in the charming streets and squares of Budafok.
With a history spanning more than three decades, the event is one of Budapest’s unique celebrations of Hungarian wine and sparkling wine culture!
The festival takes place at several locations.
Naturally, the festival is primarily about wine and sparkling wine. Numerous local Budafok-Tétény wineries as well as guest wineries will be present, offering visitors the opportunity to taste a wide variety of Hungarian wines, sparkling wines, and other bubbly specialties. As part of the Open Cellars program, several Budafok wine cellars will open their doors, including Törley Champagne Cellar, Sauska Winery, Katona Winery, and Seybold–Garab Cellar. Guided cellar tours will also be available at Záborszky Manor.
Families are also well catered for. At the Children’s Park, children can enjoy games, craft activities, interactive demonstrations, a Bubble Show, storytelling programs, and family performances on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival also offers a diverse cultural program. The Magdolna Courtyard will host contemporary exhibitions, creative workshops, guided tours, and musical performances, while several unique locations in the area – including the Cave Dwelling Memorial Museum, the Komáromi Road Air-Raid Shelter, and the Shelter Museum – will offer additional programs. Memento Park will also welcome festival visitors with discounted admission and will organize themed wine tastings on Friday and Saturday.
The three-day event therefore offers experiences not only for wine and sparkling wine enthusiasts, but also for anyone looking for an enjoyable outdoor autumn program. With concerts, gastronomic specialties, cellar visits, cultural activities, and family programs, the Budafok Champagne and Wine Festival is an ideal weekend destination for groups of friends, couples, and families alike.
