On 6 January, Three Kings’ Procession will take place on the forecourt of BRATISLAVA CASTLE. Wise men from far away lands will visit us on horseback. In order not to get lost, they will be shown the way by little star-bearers accompanied by drummers, bagpipers and carol singers. The journey, which is free to enter, will be accompanied by surprises that you will surely enjoy.
We start our New Year’s offer with wine. And not just any wine, but the famous St. This year, too, we cannot miss the Day of St. George Cellars 2024, which will take place on the last weekend in January of the new year. During the event, you can enjoy wine from 25 cellars of Sv. Jur.
The Nordic culture has come Slovakia not only through popular Nordic crime books, but also through the rich Nordic cinema. In January you can enjoy the tenth edition of the contemporary Nordic film showcase SCANDI. The organisers have prepared a selection of the most outstanding from Scandinavian cinema, namely ten premieres and three special screenings directly from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
Did you know that the biggest Bratislava marathon has had its winter series for several years? The organizers have prepared four editions of the race and in January they offer the Triple Royal edition, which is run on Draždiak. You can choose between a 5 km and 10 km run, and for children there are Turbo TV children’s runs (300, 600 or 800 m depending on age). The race starts in the morning, beginning with the children’s races. And everyone gets a medal.
Dances and songs from the Horehronie region, women’s round, men’s “shoroví”, czardáš and multi-voice singing from the village of Telgárt. You can look forward to all this at the New Year’s Dance House in the legendary V-Club. The rhythm will be played by the Roma folk music Pokošovci.
The story of the two sisters Elsa and Anna from the Ice Kingdom needs no introduction. The Slovak actors who dubbed and sang the fairy tale Frozen have prepared a performance where you can see the story of endless sibling love live. And Olaf the snowman will not be missing!
One of the most popular Slovak bands IMT Smile will present itself to its fans this time in Bratislava Stars auditorium. You can look forward to a great show, created as always by the band’s frontman Ivan Tásler and his brother and enjoy their greatest hits.
January will also feature great gags and jokes from the best stand-up comedians. Michael Szatmary, Jakub Zitron Ťapák, Jakub Gulík, Kristína Tormová, Matej Makovický, Siavash and Samo Trnka are guaranteed to entertain you. There will also be musical accompaniment, Bedña will play the guitar.
You can look forward to the K-POP Fantasy Night in Bratislava in 2024 as well. The phenomenon, which has won millions of fans and especially female fans, can be enjoyed in Bratislava already in January together with Young Bros. DJ throughout the night will be GeunYoung and he is going to mix the best tracks of K-Pop & K-Hiphop & K-EDM.
We look back at the year 2023 through films and series. Last year was also rich in extraordinary audiovisual works and you can enjoy them together with Peter Konečný, editor-in-chief of the Kinema.sk portal, co-author of the Vertigo film podcast, creator of the online show Screener and member of the Cinematik programming team, who will present dozens of films and series.
