Like 145 other European cities, Bratislava is part of the global Climathon initiative, which aims to support the creation and implementation of green solutions.
In our city we are also increasingly experiencing the effects of climate change. In recent months, we have experienced both extreme heat and torrential rain. At Climathon Bratislava, active people in teams are discovering ideas and innovative technological solutions to help mitigate the impacts of climate change.
And what is a hackathon anyway? 🤔 A creative and fast-paced way to explore new possibilities and solutions. It’s an event for programmers, designers, graphic designers, marketers and others where several teams are formed and they work intensively to solve a given problem or project.
🧑💼👩🏻🔬 During Climathon Bratislava, teams of students and enthusiasts from all over Slovakia create solutions in collaboration with city representatives, experienced mentors and practitioners.
👥 You can apply as individuals, but also as 2-5 member teams of programmers, data scientists, innovators and students interested in technology and the environment.

Participating in this online hackathon will give you 48 hours to contribute to a sustainable and resilient future for Bratislava. You will be able to help solve how to make Bratislava more resilient to climate change. Participants will spend the whole weekend developing solutions in different areas.
The winning teams will receive:
✅ 10 000EUR (5000EUR, 3000EUR and 2000EUR)
✅ the opportunity to use/pilot their solutions in the city of Bratislava
✅ 6 months of membership in The Spot coworking space, where they can continue to develop their idea
