Bratislava is waiting for three days of world music. The fourth year of the big festival will take place again at the Old Airport in Vajnory and will once again bring big names such as Onerepublic, Post Malone, Clean Bandit, Jonas Blue, Tom Gregory, Anyma, Taio Cruz, Chris De Sarandy, Candice, Clockclock, Becky Hill, Tina and others. Become a part of the biggest music event of the summer.

In August, even the little ones will have their turn. After the great success of last year, the Aloha family festival returns with a rich program for children from two years old. This year’s theme will be HAWAII – ALOHA and families with children can expect a lot of music, entertainment and interactive activities. Popular children’s stars such as Fíha Tralala, PaciPac, Šašo Imi, the Hungarian cheerleader Brandnyúl and others will perform on the main stage. There will also be various attractions such as face painting, a children’s disco, creative workshops and bouncy castles.

If you want to try sports and entertainment in one, try techno yoga. Techno yoga combines traditional yoga practice with electronic music. Similar to power yoga, techno power yoga also includes yoga positions (asanas) that help you reduce stress and gain energy. Techno music also helps you synchronize your movement with your breathing. Techno yoga is not only for advanced practitioners, but is also suitable for beginners.

The end of August will bring a great party at Wakelake by two Slovak icons Dara Rolins and Rytmus. The concert will take place right on the beach at Zlaté Piesky with a stage right above the water, and in addition to Dara and Rytmus, DJ Milan Lieskovsky and DJ Hajtkovič will provide dance entertainment. In addition, whoever buys a VIP ticket will not only get a separate zone with the best view, fast entry, but also their own bar and unlimited consumption of selected drinks.

If your children have books that they have already read and outgrown, or toys that they no longer need, why not take them to the Summer Reading Room in the Medical Garden for the exchange, where they can sell them themselves and earn their first money? They can also sell their handmade products. Don’t forget to pack a blanket or a table on which the books and toys will be sold. Participation in the exchange is free, but be careful, only children are allowed to sell.

Another event will be held in the Summer Reading Room in the Medical Garden, which will be a talk about Bratislava from the perspective of Slovak historian of architecture and fine arts Peter Szalay and entomologist Marek Semelbauer, who works at the Institute of Zoology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. He is dedicated to insects, their fauna, ecology, morphology and taxonomy. Thanks to this unusual combination of two speakers, you can discover a new side of Bratislava.

The extremely popular event is back. For the fourth time, the weekend event Wine under the Stars will take place on the stone hill Pod starou horou in the vineyards of Pezinok. In addition to wine, you can also enjoy a concert of several great bands and performers under the night sky, including Hex, Slobodná Európa, Helenine oči, Vidiek, Adonxs, Billy Barman & Dievčatá zo SĽUK, Smola a Hrušky and others.

The Bratislava Cultural Summer continues with evenings on the walls in August. A rich program, concerts and various accompanying events await you. In August, as part of the Cabaret of magic program, four magicians will enchant you, combining magic with elements of theater. The SJU concert will follow, and the magical evening will be concluded by the Bratislava electro band Noční jazdci.

A popular event where you can return to the times of chivalry is back. You can expect fencing and archery, the performance of God’s Judgments, oriental dances, the performance of The Secret of the Slavic Sword, as well as a puppet show about the journey of a knight and his friend the bunny, or the Tournament of the Brave, a medieval-inspired fairy tale about the courtship of a beautiful princess. The event will also include a recital of period music, prose and poetry performed by fencing master Peter Koza.

This year, the largest Central European reggae festival, Uprising, will end the summer holidays at Zlaté piesky. The organizers have once again managed to attract big international stars to Bratislava such as Rudimental, Pendulum (DJ set), Onyx ft. Mad Lion, Don Carlos, Queen Omega, General Levy and others. There will also be local bands such as Prago Union, Supa and Vec, Medial Banana, and even Heľenine Oči. In addition to music, there will be relaxation zones, lectures, and yoga and dance workshops. Children are also welcome, they will have a special zone prepared.

Since 2009, the concert in Devín Tribute to Freedom has been one of the top summer events. Devín was a symbol of the Iron Curtain during communism, as it was surrounded by a barbed fence almost three meters high. That is why the return of freedom is celebrated at this place every year. This year, Tublatanka, Robo Grigorov, Beáta Dubasová and Metallinda will perform at this great concert.
