1. White Night

One of the most popular events in Bratislava is here again. The first weekend of October will once again belong to art and the magical atmosphere of the White Night. For three days you can enjoy the architecture of the city, which will be enriched by the works of famous Slovak and foreign artists, not only in the interiors, but also in the outdoor spaces. You can look forward to visual and sound installations, interactive objects, but also concerts, film screenings, and various artistic performances.

2. Nena Concert

Her name will not mean anything to the younger generation, but the older ones will definitely like to come and remember the greatest hits of this German pop music icon. The two-hour concert, which will also feature her greatest hits such as 99 Luftballons, Leuchtturm, or Nur geträumt, will be held in a chamber atmosphere at the Majestic Music Club. Nena will be accompanied by a ten-piece band, while the Bratislava concert will be part of her successful Wir Gehören Zusammen tour, which was seen by 150 thousand people across Europe in 2024.

3. Plant Festival

The largest indoor plant market in Slovakia is coming to Bratislava this year, among other places. You will find not only affordable indoor plants directly from growers, but also rare collector’s items. Size does not matter, at the festival you will find everything from small plants to large solitaires, plus a wide selection of stylish flower pots. There will also be accessories on offer, such as organic fertilizers, plant protection products, literature and various gadgets.

4. Lantern Parade

If you want to experience a magical evening at Devín Castle, don’t miss the lantern parade, which will illuminate the castle walls with hundreds of lights. In addition to the parade itself and the magical atmosphere, a varied program for the whole family awaits you, which is ready from 4:30 p.m. The parade itself starts at 7:00 p.m.

5. HIIT in the Club

If you want to see the stars and the universe with a professional telescope, you have the chance in October in the outdoor areas of Devín Castle. In the company of professionals from the Slovak Association of Astronomers, you can view space bodies, such as Saturn, double stars, galaxies and nebulae. Since this is an evening event, don’t forget to dress warmly and wear shoes. You need to bring your own flashlight, flashlight or headlamp with a red light function for observation. If you don’t have a light with red light, it’s enough to wrap an ordinary flashlight with red cellophane, red foil or red cloth.

7. Cabbage Days

The first weekend of October will belong to cabbage. And where else but in Stupava should this famous festival be held? The Days of Cabbage Festival is about cabbage, a harvest exhibition, a traditional craft fair that will last three days, and musical performances. There will also be a traditional cabbage soup cooking zone “We cook with cabbage”. The program ends on Sunday with fireworks.

How about going on a Date with the City? Come and see Bratislava through different eyes. The year-round cycle of themed walks around Bratislava continues in October in the company of guides, graduates of the oldest guide course specialized in Bratislava. In October, you can choose from several interesting topics, designed for families with children, seniors, the blind and visually impaired, but also for everyone else.

9. Apple Feast

When, if not in the fall! You can enjoy the apple feast on the first weekend of October in various places in the Bratislava region – in Modra, Senec, Pezinok, Pezinok – Grinava, Limbach, Svätý Jure, Viničné, Jablonovo, in Bratislava – Rača, Bratislava – Rusovce, Bratislava – Devínska Nová Ves, Ivanka pri Dunaji, Nová Dedinka, Stupava. If you like apples, traditional apple pies, jams, cider or are just looking for inspiration for new recipes with apples, you’ve come to the right place. In addition to apple delicacies, there will also be creative workshops, active games for children, an exhibition of paintings, or getting to know historical apple varieties.

10. Día de los Muertos

Celebrate the Day of the Dead with dancing and fun? This is exactly how Mexicans celebrate Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. Now you can enjoy it in Slovakia. Skeletons, decorated skulls, but also bright flowers, all of this will accompany you on the dance floor in Kácečko, and DJs Pabloliquid and Mario Lopez will play until the morning. In addition, you can also enjoy dance animation by the traditional Mexican dance group La Marquesa, face painting with “la muerte” motifs and a themed photo booth. The best outfit wins a bottle of tequila!

11. Beer Festival

The autumn edition of the legendary Beer Salon will take place, as in previous years, in the Old Market Square. There will be well-known and lesser-known breweries, both larger and smaller, Slovak and foreign. Special guests, excellent beers and a wonderful atmosphere in the Old Market Square. Each brewery will have at least one premiere of its new beer at the Beer Salon. In addition, the Beer Salon ambassadors will select a ranking of the best Beer Salon beers for you, which the organizer will publish on the second day of the festival so that you can taste them.

The best MMA you can experience is returning to Bratislava – the semi-finals of the European MMA Champions League for a million euros. The main match of the evening will feature two fighters, Kerim Engizek will face Czech phenomenon Dominik Humburger in the semi-finals of the prestigious Tipsport Gamechanger project. The atmosphere for this match will certainly be heated by the matches before, which MMA fans can look forward to.
