This month, from 11 to 14 May, no lover of literature will miss the World of Books! The fair will be held on Brussels Road, where you can look forward to various discussion forums, author readings, meetings with writers, join publishers’ presentations, and awards for creative achievements and editorial successes. If you like tasting new foods and drinks, especially rum, this festival will be a good choice for you to go to in Prague in May. The 11th edition, which will take place on 20 May, will be a fun and informative celebration of real cane rum and will take place in Prague’s Hradčany district. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample hundreds of great rums from around the world and participate in a series of educational seminars with leading experts from home and abroad, and lead discussions on a variety of rum-related topics.
On 20-21 May, the summer edition of the Dyzajn market will take place at the Prague Exhibition Centre. You will have the opportunity to support and purchase various original products from more than 200 local creators from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and Germany. In addition, you can come and enjoy a selection of coffee, sweet and savoury treats, drinks and proper meals not only for meat eaters but vegans as well.
On the third Saturday in May, 20 May, you can look forward to a renowned festival of rosé wines and clarets from more than 30 Moravian and Czech winemakers. Come to Rašínovo nábřeží where you can enjoy good wine, delicious drinks and great music. The festival is also environmentally friendly, as throughout the festival the winemakers will be pouring exclusively into festival glasses that have been made just for the event. Sounds great, right?
Give new meaning to things you no longer need during the Dobroswap on May 6. The event will take place in Jammertal (Folimanka Park – Praha2) during the first Saturday of the month. As you can probably guess, the main idea is to bring something you don’t need and take away something new that will not only make you happy, but you will also have a unique opportunity to support a meaningful and sustainable event. What is more, you will have the chance to support various social and sheltered workshops from all over the Czech Republic by buying handicraft products.

On Sunday 20 May, you will have the opportunity to taste the best beers, there will be a large selection of craft beers available, and sample juicy burgers made with quality ingredients that guarantee their deliciousness. All day long there will be pleasant music to keep you in a good mood.
The annual celebration of St. John of Nepomuk, the patron saint of all water people, will be held on the weekend of May 14-15. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the decorating of horses on Hradčany Square or to join the hardy swimmers’ swim (under Charles Bridge), the St John’s Day parade to the Royal Bridge or the Mass in the Cathedral of St Vitus, Vojtěch and Wenceslas. The last part of the programme will be a concert on the Vltava River under the Charles Bridge!
Liveurope Festival in Prague will present young European musical talents and will take place from 25th to 26th May at the Akropolis Palace.
