1. Christmas swap

In case you have some Christmas decorations or other festive things you no longer like our you just want something else this year, give them another chance at our purely Christmas swap and maybe you'll take home some other bits you will love and decorate you or your house with! This unique opportunity you will have on 8 December at Kampus Hybernská which organises this great thematic swap. What is more, there will be accompanying music to keep you in festive mood.

2. Christmas Night Run Prague

If you love running and want to support a nice charity idea, on Saturday 17 December you will have the opportunity to join night run with a spice of Christmas atmosphere. The Christmas Night Run will took place in the centre of Prague near Rudolfinum starting at 5 p.m. with a must-have dresscode – headlamp and red “Santa” hat. The race is suitable also for kids and adults since there are various categories of the race’s length.

3. Christmas Markets Prague

Since the festive season cannot be without the traditional Christmas markets, you can find a plenty of them throughout Prague as well. Therefore, we have prepared a list of the most interesting ones which you can visit there during Advent period! As usual with these thematic markets, you will have the opportunity to choose from a varied selection of traditional Christmas specialties, refreshments and stalls with goods or decorations that you can buy for your beloved ones. The organisers of these markets have prepared a great Christmas programme full of carols and singing performances which will definitely bring you Christmas mood!

4. Pottery and Handicraft Market in Holešovice

Come any buy the Christmas gifts at the pottery market at the Exhibition Grounds during the first week of December! Support more than 130 local craftsmen from all over the Czech Republic who will come with their products such as glassmakers, blacksmiths, cutters, weavers and many other traditional and unusual crafts. Apart from that, there is going to be a selection of Christmas sweets, gingerbread, fudge, mead, a stylish tea room and mulled wine and much more!

5. Mint Market Prague Christmas

During the last pre-Christmas weekend, at Prague’s Market Hall, you will have the opportunity to buy beautiful gifts from creators and designers not only from the Czech Republic, but also from Slovakia and Ukraine. As always, you may look forward to a wide range of lovingly made handbags, handmade jewellery, organic cosmetics, candles, original paper goods, macramé, porcelain, toys for children and much more.

6. St. Nicholas Day at the Exhibition Grounds

Since St. Nicholas day is coming, you can bring your children or friends to ice skating at the Exhibition Grounds on 4 December 2022 which will be accompanied by a nice festive Christmasy programme! No matter if you have skates or not, you will have the opportunity to rent them and enjoy a nice Sunday with St. Nicholas, devils or angels. What is more, there will be workshops for children and photo booths to make a nice memory!

7. Sweet Christmas at Chvaly Chateau

Find out more about the way of eating and making sweets at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries at Chvaly Chateau in Prague! You will have the opportunity to do so from 26 November until 8 January where you will see confectionery tools, such as the hand ice cream machine, punches and candy molds. The event will be opened every day, and what is more, there will be some more accompanying more Christmasy events such as living Bethlehem or Christmas workshops.

8. A night of world Christmas melodies

The famous Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague has prepared a unique evening full of the most famous Christmas and film melodies, which will fill the splendid hall of the Municipal House in Prague on 19 December! Come and immerse into songs such as Gruber’s Silent Night, John Jennon’s Happy Xmas, War is Over, songs from Home Alone or Three Nuts for Cinderella by Karel Svoboda.

9. Filmasia – festival of Asian Films

You can taste a little bit of Asian cinematography from 1 December to 6 December at Lucerna Palace during the festival of Asian Films – Filmasia. The film festival brings with its 18th edition the interesting selection of the pieces of new filmmakers, current works by well-known ones and restored works of classics. What is more, the projection will be accompanied by digital and physical exhibition of photographs by four film photographers who have documented nearly two hundred local films over the past 25 years with their exceptional photography.

10. Christmas market and book bazaar

Come on 14 December at the main courtyard of Klementinum where you can join another festive market which will offer also a book twist. You can either buy some new Christmas decorations, join guided tours of the Crusader Corridors and the Mirror Chapel, immerse yourself into listening of the concert of children's choir or buy some interesting books.
