The Pink May Festival returns to the Prague embankment! The thirteenth edition of the popular celebration of rosé wine will take place on Saturday, May 17, at Rašínovo nábřeží.
Visitors can look forward to more than 25 winemakers who will bring the best from their cellars – mainly Moravian rosé wines and clairets, but wines from Bohemia will also be represented. The tasting will be complemented by a rich gastronomic program, perfectly paired with the offered wines, and an all-day colorful cultural program.
Růžový máj will offer an exceptional opportunity to taste young, fresh, and aromatic rosé wines that belong to the absolute world elite. Thanks to the favorable climate and the meticulous work of winemakers in the vineyards and cellars, Czech and Moravian “růžovka” wines enjoy an excellent reputation. The offer will mainly include wines from the latest and second latest vintages, those that best embody the lightness and freshness of the spring season.
The festival activities will start at 10 a.m., with the official opening scheduled for 11 a.m. Around thirty wineries will present their wines, bringing over seven thousand bottles. Tasting will take place exclusively from festival glasses of Czech production, thereby not only supporting local craftsmanship but also minimizing plastic waste. The tasting set, including a 0.35l glass, a card with an overview of the winemakers, and a pencil, can be purchased in advance or on the day of the festival for a symbolic price of 100 CZK. Entry to the festival itself is free – and if someone does not wish to taste wine but would rather enjoy the refreshments or listen to the music, there is no need to buy anything.
The gastronomic part of the festival will be truly varied this year. Visitors can look forward to 19 stalls with delicacies ideal for pairing with rosé wine – from Mediterranean specialties through Slovak pagáčky, Balkan pljeskavica and burek to raclette, guacamole, and French cheeses and sausages. Of course, there will also be a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, specialty coffee, and craft beer.
However, Růžový máj is not just about wine and food – the all-day program will be accompanied by live music. It will start with traditional cimbalom music, then smoothly transition to jazz and swing rhythms, allowing visitors not only to enjoy the great atmosphere but also to dance if they wish. The festival once again promises an unforgettable experience for all senses.
