This year, the traditional St. Nicholas celebrations in Prague once again feature the popular event “Devils on the Devil’s Stream” (Čerti na Čertovke). On the eve of St. Nicholas Day (December 5, 2026), a unique experience awaits visitors of all ages.
The highlight of the program is a series of boat trips “to and from hell,” taking place right on the waters of the Čertovka stream. Visitors can look forward to a spookily entertaining cruise in historic boats, while devils lie in wait along the banks of the canal. And, provided you’ve been good, you might also encounter St. Nicholas and an angel.
The cruises will take place aboard the boats *Vodouch* and *Bivoj*. During the approximately 30-minute journey, devils on the banks will regale children and their parents with eerie legends and tales filled with fire.
Boats depart every 15 minutes from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM from the mysterious underground *Judita* (Judith) wharf (Křižovnické náměstí No. 3, Prague 1).
This event is perfect for families with children who want to experience the St. Nicholas tradition in a way that goes beyond the usual festivities on dry land. Cruising beneath Prague’s mysterious bridges and past old mills lends a truly unique atmosphere to this encounter with the devils.
