The Christmas Markets at Old Town Square in Prague will once again become a symbol of magical advent atmosphere this year. From 29 November 2025 to 6 January 2026, the heart of the historic city center will turn into a fairy-tale place attracting visitors from all around the world.
The main highlight of the markets will be, as every year, the magnificent Christmas tree, whose decorations will enchant both children and adults. The tree, sourced from Czech forests, will be ceremonially lit during the traditional opening ceremony that launches the entire advent program.
Visitors can look forward to a wide selection of stalls offering original Christmas gifts, handmade decorations, and traditional Czech crafts. Adding to that will be a rich variety of delicious festive treats – from fragrant trdelník and mulled wine to Czech specialties such as bramboráky, sausages, and mead.
Every day, guests can immerse themselves in Christmas music and cultural performances. The stage will host choirs, folklore ensembles, and various music groups, all contributing to the unforgettable holiday atmosphere. Children can enjoy creative workshops where they can make their own Christmas ornaments, or meet St. Nicholas and his companions.
Old Town Square during Christmas is not just about shopping and food – it’s also about shared experiences. You can stop by the nativity scene, admire traditional Czech customs, or simply enjoy the evening while overlooking the illuminated square, which leaves a lasting impression.
