Festival of Watermen

Get ready for a fairytale afternoon full of fun, water, music, dancing, and adventure, and an allegorical parade full of water sprites, fairies, and pirates, which will head to the Waterworks Garden.

The Karloveské rameno near the Mark Twain Club will be transformed into a magical place where the water sprite Ferko will disembark with his family and pirates with a shot from pirate guns.

Program:

2:30 p.m. – Disembarkation and welcome of Ferko the water sprite and his family at Karloveské rameno /near the Mark Twain Club

2:40 p.m. – Disembarkation of pirates, firing of guns

2:45 p.m. – Allegorical parade from Karloveské rameno to Vodárenská záhrada (water sprites, fairies, pirates, train, and great music)

3:00 p.m. – Arrival of the parade at Vodárenská záhrada – water sprite anthem, cannon fire, water sprite oath.

3:15 p.m. – Poseidon and his water world

3:25 p.m. – Water fairies: Lamač ballet pointe under the direction of Petra
Babošová

3:30 p.m. – Performance for children: Water Sprites – ZáBaVKA Theater

4:15 p.m. – Veternica dance group and Pirates of the Caribbean

4:20 p.m. – Karloveskí piráti (battles, explaining the difference between pirates and corsairs…)

4:35 p.m. – Performance for children: Pirátov syn – Divadlo Makile

5:20 – 6:20 p.m. – Costume contest

5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. – Waterman bubble party

5:30 p.m. – Introduction to Špacírka: In the footsteps of Karlova Ves – History and monuments of the Karloveské rameno

6:30 p.m. – Club at Mark Twain’s: Boris Horínek concert

Accompanying events:

Completion of waterman tasks (for completing six tasks, children will receive
a waterman certificate and a sweet reward)
Tasks (throwing anchors, catching fish, running across a footbridge, determining the cardinal directions using a compass, building pyramids from balls, chopping with a sabre)
Boating on the Karloveské rameno – provided by the Water Sports Club, Karlova Ves
Themed creative workshops – making waterman masks
Walking tour In the footsteps of Karlova Ves – History and monuments of Karloveské rameno
Competition for the best costume. The costume must be related to the water theme.

Come in costume, at least in a striped T-shirt and headband or eye patch, or just come as you are, in a good mood.
