Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra presents Dan Goggin’s world-famous musical about a group of five nuns who have to raise a lot of money for their parish in a short time.
They organise a benefit performance in which each of the main performers discovers her talent and shows it to the world. But, as it happens in life, nothing goes according to plan…We will witness many humorous situations, but also stellar musical creations, the art of tap dancing, ballet dancing or comic twists and catchy melodies.
We will meet Mother Superior, a former circus performer and her right-hand woman, Sister Maria Hubert, who is in charge of the novices. We are also introduced to Sister Róberta Anna, a nun who grew up on the streets, Sister Maria Lea, a novice who wants to become the first prima ballerina nun, and the endearing Sister Maria Amnesia, who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head (a work-related accident due to her failure to attend Occupational Health and Safety training).
The musical Nuns has become an international phenomenon and has been performed in more than eight thousand productions around the world. It has been translated into 26 languages. It is a great combination of genre-diverse music interwoven with humorous situations from the bowels of the monastery. We are honoured to present a work full of kind humour and humanity, which are especially important essences in our time.
