Ružinov Folklore Festival

The Ružinov Folklore Festival returns with a rich selection of traditional Slovak folk songs and dances. This event, brimming with culture and tradition, will take place on November 15, 2025, at the Ružinov Cultural Center, located at Ružinovská 28.

Get ready for an exceptional day full of colors, music, and traditions. On Saturday, November 15, the Ružinov Cultural Center will be transformed into a place where Slovak folk songs, dances, and customs will come to life. What could be better than experiencing a rich cultural heritage in a pleasant environment where families, friends, and folklore lovers can meet?

This year, you can look forward to a varied program featuring performances by well-known children’s and adult folklore ensembles – DFS Kremienok, DFS Malinky, FS Karpaty, and FS Skaličan. The festival will be complemented by accompanying events, creative workshops for children, sales of traditional Slovak products, and an interesting workshop called Ornament in Many Forms.

“The Ružinov Folklore Festival proves that traditions still have their place in contemporary urban life. Folklore connects us across generations and is part of our identity,” says Martin Chren, mayor of Ružinov.

The highlight of the event will be energetic performances by folklore ensembles showcasing the beauty of Slovak heritage – from authentic children’s dances to the spirited choreography of adult ensembles.

For the little ones, there is the popular Fidlikanti deťom program, which shows that folk music can be a playful and inspiring way to learn about traditions.

The festival will also be complemented by an accompanying program – performances by the Bystričan Choir and the Balážovci Folk Music Group in the Lower Vestibule.

Admission to the festival is free, but free reservations are required for performances by DFS Kremienok, DFS Malinky, FS Karpaty, and FS Skaličan.
