The winter Balkan Bashavel tour will kick off in February — a time when we dance together into the new year to the rhythms of Balkan beats, gypsy, reggae and world music. In Bratislava, the lineup includes: MALALATA (SK), Lovesong Orchestra (CZ), Hrajnoha (SK).
Active on the scene since 2007, MALALATA is synonymous with a unique fusion of Balkan beats, gypsy music, reggae, and world music. The Slovak DJ duo combines these rhythms into distinctive sets, complemented by their unrestrained and infectiously energetic performances. Under the baton of MALALATA, clubs throughout Europe, as well as in distant Japan and Mexico, have pulsated to their music. The duo got the crowds dancing at festivals such as Sziget, Colours of Ostrava, Pohoda, Grape, and Uprising, and has shared the stage with stars such as Parov Stelar, Goran Bregović, Shantel, Mahala Rai Banda, and Fanfare Ciocarlia.
A five-piece Balkan-style brass band led by bandleader Tomáš “El Checo” Průš. Their performances are full of fierce energy, strong emotions and live contact with the audience — that’s what makes this classy home-grown brass band exceptional.
A native of Púchov and one of the people who was behind the birth of MALALATA. His sets are an energetic combination of Balkan beats, folklore and reggae rhythms. In short, a good dose of grooves and joy.
Entry to the event will be allowed only to persons over 18 years of age.
