Once again this fall, Balkan Bashavel returns to Bratislava! In early December, we will jump together to the rhythms of Balkan beats, gypsy, reggae and world music.
Balkan Bashavel starts in the combo:
MALALATA + Lomnické Čháve (live) + Radio Barbã (BE, DJ set)
🐐 MALALATA (SK)
Active on the scene since 2007, MALALATA is synonymous with a unique fusion of Balkan beats, gypsy music, reggae, and world music. The Slovak DJ duo combines these rhythms into distinctive sets, complemented by their unrestrained and infectiously energetic performances. Under the baton of MALALATA, clubs throughout Europe, as well as in distant Japan and Mexico, have pulsated to their music. The duo got the crowds dancing at festivals such as Sziget, Colours of Ostrava, Pohoda, Grape, and Uprising, and has shared the stage with stars such as Parov Stelar, Goran Bregović, Shantel, Mahala Rai Banda, and Fanfare Ciocarlia.
🎺 LOMNICKÉ ČHÁVE (SK, live)
A four-piece band from Veľká Lomnica that bursts with energy. They play Roma, Slovak, and Czech folk songs, all with a distinctive temperament enhanced by the piano improvisations of multi-instrumentalist Roman Polhoš. The band’s repertoire creatively conveys the world of emotions, joy and sorrow from the past of the nomadic Roma ethnic group, which, rooted to the ground, is searching for a new meaning to its existence.
🐓 RADIO BARBÃ (BE, DJ set)
A traveler in body and soul, whose roots lie in Belgium, but who is much more often found wandering around Eastern Europe. He lives by the motto “Let Love Rule,” and so his turbulent DJ mixes combine Eastern European wedding hits, Balkan grooves, and transcontinental gypsy punk.
Entry to the event will be allowed only to persons over 18 years of age.
Tickets will be on sale directly on site.
