MAMMA MIA! contains all of ABBA’s immortal musical hits, which are artfully combined with a touching and humorous plot: twenty-year-old Sophia, in an attempt to find out who her father is, relives the past of her young single mother, Donna. And it’s all framed by the beauty of a magical Greek island. Sun, sea and love!
Since opening in London (in 1999) and on Broadway (in 2001), the musical MAMMA MIA! has been performed in twenty-two languages and has enjoyed success as far away as China! Audiences everywhere are having a great time. They laugh at funny situations, cry at touching scenes. They let themselves be carried away by the ease with which the theatre time passes, swept away by surprising twists and turns, made laugh by comic gags. Familiar musical numbers are backed by the stage’s mesmerizing choreography. And all this against the backdrop of picturesque scenery, complemented by eye-pleasing pastel costumes. The highlight of the show is, of course, the finale of the musical, when all the actors sing a medley of hits with the audience: ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘Waterloo’. And they dance together!
