The Hudba Modre Festival will bring top international and Slovak artists to this picturesque wine-growing town at the foot of the Carpathians. You can look forward to classical music and jazz of the very highest quality. Over the course of four days, the organisers will present concerts by ensembles that are among the very best on the domestic scene, as well as an international jazz trio. As is now tradition, admission to all concerts is free.

The trio led by Polish cellist and vocalist Tamara Behler presents a captivating blend of jazz, classical music, and world music. Discover one of the most exciting young talents on the Polish music scene. Performers: Tamara Behler – vocals, cello. Grzech Piotrowski – saxophone, Shachar Elnatan – guitar.
Cellist and singer Tamara Behler is one of the most remarkable emerging artists in Poland. She will perform in Modra with her Polish-American trio, offering a deeply intimate fusion of jazz, pop, classical music, and world music. Their concert begins at 7:00 p.m. in the beautiful courtyard of the Manor House (Kaštieľ) in Modra, creating the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable chamber music evening under the stars.

Berger Trio
The festival’s resident ensemble will perform a concert featuring works spanning from the Baroque period to contemporary compositions. Berger Trio is a highly acclaimed chamber ensemble made up of members and soloists of the Slovak Philharmonic. Performers: Ján Slávik – cello, Jozef Eliáš – clarinet, Ladislav Fančovič – piano / saxophone. Venue: German Evangelical Church.

Sperger Duo
The double bass and piano is a rare combination in classical music. This internationally acclaimed duo brings the works of forgotten double bass virtuosos back to life and will perform mainly Slovak and Czech works from the Romantic period at this concert. Filip Jaro – double bass, Xénia Jarová – piano. On Saturday 22 August at 7.00 pm, the church will resound with the festival premiere of the SPERGER DUO – Filip Jaro on double bass and Xénia Jarová on piano. Don’t miss this wonderful programme from the Romantic period, with the double bass taking centre stage!

Breakfast with Chamber Music
Moldovan-born cimbalom virtuoso Marcel Comendant will introduce audiences to one of the world’s oldest instruments in a completely new way. This year’s edition, subtitled “The Unconventional Cimbalom,” features the internationally renowned musician performing an inspiring repertoire ranging from Baroque and classical music to jazz and Balkan rhythms.
Enjoy a relaxed late summer breakfast accompanied by music of various styles while learning fascinating insights during a live conversation with the artist. A special breakfast menu prepared exclusively for the Music in Modra Festival will be available at Cuvée.

Admission to all concerts is free, with voluntary donations welcome.
Proceeds collected at the German Evangelical Church concerts will be donated towards the restoration of the church.
