Harvest Festival in Prague

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Prague 7 will host the Harvest Festival (Dožínkové slavnosti), the largest farmers’ market in the capital.

From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., visitors can enjoy a program full of folklore performances, craft demonstrations, competitions, and a wide assortment of products from local farmers and producers from various regions of the Czech Republic.

The festival will feature a vibrant farmers’ market with fresh produce, homemade specialties, and regional delicacies. There will also be craft workshops, where visitors can try traditional techniques, along with an exhibition of farming machinery and farm animals, sure to delight both children and adults. For the youngest guests, a rich accompanying program with games and competitions is prepared.

A key element was the last sheaf of grain—called the “baba” or “bride”—as well as a harvest wreath woven from ears of grain and flowers, kept until the spring sowing. These traditions expressed gratitude for the harvest and hopes for abundance in the coming year.
