On Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the fourth annual NeverMore 68 festival will take place at Výstaviště Prague 7, commemorating one of the darkest anniversaries in our modern history – 57 years since the invasion of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact troops.
This event had a profound impact on the lives of the people and the development of the entire country, which is why it is important to remember it and learn from it.
NeverMore 68 is organized in cooperation with the Institute of Independent Journalism, Czech Radio Radiožurnál, the association Díky, že můžem, Post Bellum, and other partners who aim not only to recall historical events but also to support discussions about freedom, democracy, and responsibility for the future.
What can you expect at Výstaviště? The program is very diverse and engaging. On the podcast stage, there will be interviews and debates with experts, historians, and eyewitnesses, offering insight into the era and its contemporary significance. Additionally, you can look forward to concerts by Czech artists, which will add a cultural dimension and an atmosphere of remembrance and hope.
There will also be stands from various institutions such as the Museum of 20th Century Memory, Gulag.cz, the Political Prisoners project, Post Bellum, and others, providing interesting information, documents, and personal stories from the period of occupation and totalitarianism. For military history enthusiasts, there will be an exhibition featuring authentic equipment from the Museum at the Demarcation Line in Rokycany, including the famous T-55 tank with the invasion stripe symbolizing the aggression of that time.
Throughout the day, thematic documentaries and archival footage will be screened to help better understand the complexity of the situation and its consequences. Refreshments and seating will be available, allowing visitors to relax and share their impressions.
NeverMore 68 is not just a remembrance of tragic events but also a call to never take freedom and democracy for granted. It is a challenge to learn from history, appreciate the present, and work together for a better future.
If you are interested in Czech history and culture and want to remember an important moment from our past, don’t hesitate to come to Výstaviště Prague 7 on August 21. You will experience a day full of meaningful encounters, inspiration, and a reminder of the values that unite us.
