Brain Week 2025

Brain Week 2025 will take place from March 10 to 16, offering the latest insights and trends in brain research and neuroscience.

This festival is part of the global Brain Awareness Week (BAW) campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the achievements and benefits of brain research. In Europe, the festival is coordinated by The European Dana Alliance for the Brain (EDAB), while in the Czech Republic, it was founded by renowned Czech neuroscientist Professor Josef Syka in 1998.

Over more than twenty years of its existence, Brain Week has become a prestigious event that attracts not only experts and students but also the general public interested in the latest discoveries in neuroscience. The festival offers a rich program of lectures, discussions, and interactive presentations, where leading Czech and international scientists present the latest findings in both theoretical and clinical neuroscience. Regular topics covered by the festival include human memory function, neuroplasticity, the impact of modern technology on the brain, Alzheimer’s disease research, neurodegenerative disorders, and the use of artificial intelligence in neurology.

The festival is intended for students, teachers, parents with children, and anyone interested in the workings of the brain and the human mind. The goal of the event is not only to present new scientific knowledge but also to encourage public discussion about the development of neuroscience and its impact on everyday life.

The festival is organized by the Centre for Joint Activities of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Czech Neuroscience Society. All festival events take place at the Czech Academy of Sciences building in Prague 1, and admission is free for visitors.
