On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the streets of Prague’s Letňany district will once again come alive with traditional carnival celebrations.
Letňanský Masopust 2026 will offer a lively program full of masks, music, dancing, and delicious food, inviting both children and adults to celebrate one of the most joyful folk traditions of the year.
The carnival day will begin at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Letňany Town Hall on Bechyňská Street, where a ceremonial welcome will take place. At 11:00 a.m., the traditional carnival parade will set off, leading from the town hall through Beranových, Rychnovská, and Kladrubská streets to Stará náves. The procession will feature a colorful mix of masks, musicians, and performers, creating an authentic old-Bohemian atmosphere.
Visitors can look forward to performances by traditional Prague folk characters, stilt walkers, and a fairy tale show for the youngest guests. A popular best costume competition will also be part of the program, bringing plenty of creative and humorous outfits each year. Organizers encourage everyone to come in costume and fully join in the carnival fun.
Of course, there will also be traditional carnival refreshments, an essential part of the celebration. The aromas of classic pork specialties, sweet treats, and hot drinks will complete the atmosphere of a winter day filled with joy and togetherness.
Letňanský Masopust is an ideal event for families with children, neighbors, and friends who want to enjoy a traditional folk festival in a friendly and welcoming setting. If you’re looking for a January event that combines folklore, entertainment, and community spirit, the Letňany carnival should definitely be on your list.
