Knihex 14½ Prague

Book lovers, literature enthusiasts, and those seeking a cozy atmosphere should not miss the winter edition of Knihex 14½, taking place on December 14–15, 2024, at the UMPRUM Technology Center (Mikulandská 134/5, Prague 1).

This event, open from 10:00 to 20:00, offers a unique opportunity to meet with high-quality smaller publishers and explore their books in a friendly and inspiring environment.

Knihex is more than just a book market – it’s a space where books and readers connect through the publishers and authors themselves. The creators present not only their latest books but also share their stories, inspirations, and behind-the-scenes experiences of publishing. It’s a place to discover books that often go unnoticed by mainstream markets but offer so much to those who seek them out.

A Rich Program for All Ages
In addition to the book offerings, Knihex will feature a diverse program for both adults and children.

For children, there will be art workshops, theater performances, and themed activities. For example, in the bookbinding workshop, they can create their own notebooks or try their hand at being little publishers. On Sunday, the popular Buchty a loutky theater group will perform their Christmas play Vánoční raketa.

Adults can enjoy author readings, debates, and presentations of literary novelties. The literary magazine Tvar will focus on mainstream topics in literature, while Radio Wave will host a discussion on the best books of 2024.

More than 80 publishers and magazines will take part in Knihex, including Baobab, Paseka, Labyrint, Revolver Revue, Deník N, Karolinum, and UMPRUM. This is the perfect chance to discover unique titles and support local creators and publishing houses.

There will also be an antiquarian stand where you can bring your old books and exchange them for others that catch your interest.

Knihex is a place to spend the whole day. In addition to the books and activities, a relaxation zone will be available where you can leaf through your new finds or enjoy the peaceful holiday atmosphere.
