Czech Television invites visitors to celebrate its 70th anniversary with the interactive exhibition Telka slaví 70, open at the Czech TV Gallery until December 30, 2024.

This unique showcase offers an insightful journey into the history of Czech television production, highlighting over 40 iconic shows that have won the hearts of viewers. Divided into thematic sections, the exhibition combines entertainment with education, making it appealing to all age groups.

The introductory part immerses visitors in the world of TV shows through engaging experiences, such as dancing with stars from StarDance, navigating a mirror maze inspired by the movie How to Pull Dad Out of Reform School, or encountering the Snow Dragon with special effects. Another section features decorations and puppets from beloved children’s series like Broučci, Pat & Mat, and Jája a Pája, set within stunning three-dimensional recreations of old Prague.

Interactive activities are a key highlight of the exhibition. Visitors can step into a dubbing studio to become part of a TV broadcast or take a dictation challenge with Zdeněk Svěrák. Both children and adults will enjoy quizzes inspired by popular shows such as Wandering Camera, The Cat is Not a Dog, and the baking competition The Great Czech Bake Off.

The exhibition not only entertains but also provides a rare glimpse behind the scenes of television production. Film enthusiasts will appreciate the sections dedicated to cinematic creations, featuring iconic films like How to Pull Dad Out of Reform School. One of the exhibition’s highlights is an interactive tunnel that connects the past with the present through legendary characters and stories.

Telka slaví 70 is the seventh exhibition by the Czech TV Gallery, demonstrating that Czech Television is not just an institution with a rich history but also a bridge between generations. It’s an ideal outing for families, school trips, or anyone looking to revisit their favorite shows or learn more about television production.

This exhibition, accessible for free daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, is both a celebration of television history and a gift to the audience, offering an unforgettable day full of nostalgia, creativity, and inspiration.

WHEN: Daily 10:00 AM–6:00 PM until December 30, 2024
WHERE: Czech TV Gallery, Na Hřebenech
ADMISSION: Free
