Festival Letní Letná 2025 will take place from August 13 to 31 in Letenské sady (Letná Park) in Prague and will offer the best of new circus, theater, music, and visual art.
The 22nd edition of the international festival Letní Letná will bring to the heart of Prague a rich program of domestic and international ensembles combining acrobatics, dance, juggling, physical theater, and visual effects. Over the years, the festival has become a key event of the cultural summer and a sought-after place for lovers of new circus of all ages.
This year, the festival will open on August 13 with the company Blackout Paradox presenting the street dance-acrobatic performance Stvoření (Creation), inspired by Greek mythology and complemented by fire and light effects. On the very first evening, Cirk La Putyka, a staple of the Czech new circus scene, will also perform.
Among the main international guests are the French group Akoreacro with the premiere of the production Ostinato, the dreamy performance Décrochez-moi-ça by Bêtes de foire, and the acrobatic show Duel Reality by the Canadian group The 7 Fingers. An original blend of circus and gastronomy will be offered by Max & Maurice in their production Les Grands Fourneaux #2, while their compatriots People Watching will present the playful show Play Dead, hovering between dream and reality.
From Czech companies, this year will feature, for example, Losers Cirque Company with their new show Sousedi and the strong performance Nespoutaní. The dance-theater performance Od vedle! will be offered by Michaela Stará, and juggler Ondřej Holba will present a fascination with quantum physics in the production Princip nejistoty (Uncertainty Principle).
The festival will also offer the fairy tale performance Divoké husy (Wild Geese) by the company FyzioART, the visually dreamy Blue Secret Show by the duo Zorya Blue and Iva Eyra, and the production Hey, Earth! by Cirk La Putyka. The Theater of the Memory of the Nation will present a powerful story about the end of World War II, inspired by the real stories of eyewitnesses.
There will also be the (Not Only) Juggling Gala Show, which annually presents the best of the domestic and international juggling scene.
In addition to evening performances, Letní Letná will offer a rich daytime program for children, art and circus workshops, concerts, and day camps. A large part of the accompanying program is free. The festival grounds in Letenské sady will also provide relaxation zones, refreshments, bars, and comfortable facilities for a full-day visit — including barrier-free access.
Letní Letná 2025 again promises an exceptional experience that connects art, imagination, and the atmosphere of summer Prague into one unique festival whole.
