An exhibition dedicated to one of the best and most famous painters of all time, Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn. The central work of the exhibition is a portrait of the Scholar in a study room from the collections of the National Gallery in Prague from 1634, from a period filled with success for Rembrandt in both professional and private life. However, the portrait not only captures the physical form of an unknown man, but Rembrandt masterfully managed to capture the dramatic spiritual life of the portrayed old man and, thanks to his facial expression, tell a rich story, thus placing the painting itself on the level of historical painting. However, you will also see many other works of Rembrandt, as well as the works of his contemporaries and followers.
