On Thursday, November 5, the Holešovice Market will be transformed into a colorful celebration of the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos, which honors the deceased through music, food, dance, and traditional customs.
Visitors can look forward to dozens of stalls offering Mexican specialties such as tacos, quesadillas, and churros, as well as traditional drinks and other treats. The program will feature a DJ, live music performed by mariachi musicians, performers on stilts, and a parade through the entire venue. The traditional Ofrenda altar will also be on display.
Hall 13 will host a Mexican market featuring local products, food, bars, and workshops. Face painting and other creative activities will also be available. Families with children will find plenty to enjoy as well; Hall 11 will host a Mexican carnival with dance workshops, a disco, games, and arts and crafts. Children will also have the chance to meet a Xoloitzcuintle dog, a breed closely associated with Mexican traditions.
Día de Muertos is a great opportunity to experience Mexican culture in a slightly different way, try something new, and enjoy a day full of colors, music, and good food right here in Prague.
