Urban Market Spring Edition

Urban Market, a celebration of local design, creativity, culture and diversity, will take place from 31 May to 2. June at the Faculty of Architecture and Design.

This unique cultural event brings together design, contemporary art, creativity and a showcase of local fashion.

Enter a world of local design, original creations and cultural programming for the whole family. ✨ We invite you to the Urban Market with everything that goes with it!

The temperatures are rising, the sparrows are chirping, it’s time for the spring edition! After 5 years, Urban Market returns to the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The showcase of original local design and creation will be complemented by a rich programme for children and adults and the Urban Food Park – all on the adjacent Freedom Square under the iconic fountain 💦

The spring edition will also be associated with the 15th edition of the DAAD (Days of Architecture and Design) festival, which annually maps and presents the best of what is happening in the field on the domestic and international scene 👉

☀️ EDITION THEME: DIVERSITY ☀️

We live in a world of diversity – see it in nature, and in cultural society. It’s been with us forever. It is a heritage we carry within us and pass on to the next generation. It is ingrained in us and it is exciting to explore it. Diversity opens the door to creativity, encourages collaboration, new ideas and innovation. It is an endless inspiration that pushes us and makes this world a better place.

Since its inception, Urban Market has been a celebration of diversity. Over the past 14 years, we have showcased hundreds of designers – each and every one of them different in some way. Whether it be in personality or in the form of their work. But one thing they had in common. Thanks to their otherness and their different world view, they created a unique local design.

The world is a colourful place, and diversity plays a vital role in it – it affirms our uniqueness.

In the spring edition, we would like to highlight its importance. Let us not close our eyes to it, let us not fight against it, let us show together that it is necessary and indispensable. Because if we do decide to fight against it, we will only be fighting against ourselves.

You can also enjoy a lot of accompanying activities, buy something unique directly from the authors and enjoy a nice time with your family or friends!
