n 12 November, the European Art Cinema Day will take place in 38 countries and hundreds of art cinemas, and will be held for the eighth time in our country. The event aims to raise awareness of the diversity of European cinema and the cultural and community importance of art cinema. Film lovers will be able to choose from a special offer in almost all Hungarian art cinemas, which will include premiere screenings of festival award-winning films.
This year’s line-up features exciting new European co-productions, from the Palme d’Or winner at Cannes, to the Berlin and Venice Prize-winning dramas, Spanish comedies and Danish family animation, as well as two new Hungarian films.
The national cinemas that have joined the program will select a selection of these to screen on 12 November, giving viewers the chance to be the first to see the selected films at the European Art Cinema Day screenings, weeks or months before their national premieres.
