It is a magical atmosphere of Christmas. Time for a stroll through the brightly lit streets of old Bratislava, discovering Christmas symbols and remembering the old Bratislava Christmas traditions.
In the past, 21 December was St. Thomas’s Day. The men of the family went to the forest to look for a Christmas tree. St. Thomas’s Day is also mentioned several times in the surviving archival documents of Bratislava. The authorities of the old Presburg repeatedly forbid in them… Do you know what? We’ll tell you and tell you more about Christmas traditions and Bratislava’s Christmas customs on our walk through Christmas Bratislava, from Franciscan Street to St. Martin’s Cathedral.
