Fans of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones pay attention! The spectacular show THE UNIVERSE OF JOHN WILLIAMS is coming to Bratislava on December 5, 2024 at 20:00!

Unique original show for the first time in Slovakia! On 5 December, the GOPASS arena Bratislava will come alive with film music from legendary films such as Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones. THE UNIVERSE OF JOHN WILLIAMS performed by the Prague Film Orchestra with guest conductor Pete Harrison pays tribute to the most famous film music composer of all time.

The music written in the heart of every film fan, for which he won five Academy Awards, will come alive with film projections, a magical light show and commentary by John Williams himself!

American film music composer John Williams has won a huge number of awards. With 52 Academy Award nominations, he is recognized as the most nominated living artist for an Academy Award. Slovak fans now have the opportunity to hear his famous songs live for the first time. Audiences can look forward to immortal songs from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. There will also be the title tunes for Jaws and Indiana Jones. Many will also be surprised by the official anthem of the Olympic Games, composed by John Willliams for the Salt Lake City Winter Sports Festival. The theme tune to Schindler’s List will send chills down your spine, and the fairy-tale melody from Home Alone will conjure up the atmosphere of Advent. Fans of Superman or the war drama Saving Private Ryan will also be in for a treat.

“Together with conductor Pete Harris we have managed to prepare a unique show that will enchant and even move the audience. It’s not just about the film footage, but also the inspiration and circumstances during which John Williams composed his legendary music. This is a completely new concept of a concert show. And because films like Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones are truly spectacular, we’ve added an extra magical light show. The traditionally excellent Prague Film Orchestra will be accompanied by a large choir, which will add to the experience,” says Zuzana Benediktová, the organiser of the JVS Concert, describing the preparation of the concert.

Pete Harrison is a renowned conductor who has appeared as a guest conductor with many British and international ensembles, and the music of John Williams is both his speciality and a matter of the heart. Pete is also an energetic presenter, which means that during the show he will share with the audience many interesting facts about the circumstances and inspirations that led the composer to create his iconic works. The experience will be enhanced by comments from John Williams himself, who will speak to the audience from the screen. The great Prague Film Orchestra and a large choir under the baton of Pete Harris will prepare the audience for a completely unique music and film experience together with the film and light show.
