We invite you to a summer artistic experience in the Old Market Hall!
The spatial installation TAPE from the Austrian-Croatian group NUMEN/FOR USE is the third project in the summer exhibition format of contemporary visual arts in the Old Market Hall. The exhibition is created in collaboration with the White Night festival and Slovenská Sporiteľňa.
TAPE is a natural continuation of the TUBE project that we could experience in the Old Market Hall in 2021. This impressive spatial installation once again works with the monumentality of historical architecture, providing visitors with a new perspective, context, and experience of the familiar space of the Old Market Hall.
The collective NUMEN/FOR USE is composed of visual artists, designers, architects, and scenographers, including Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler, and Nikola Radeljković. They are known for their large-scale interactive works, which have been successful worldwide.
They have exhibited in Paris, Moscow, London, Seoul, Sao Paulo, Melbourne, Tokyo, neighboring Vienna, and other global metropolises.
For private tour possibilities, you can inquire at trznica@staratrznica.sk.
The exhibition is organized by Stará tržnica and the main partner of the project is Slovenská sporiteľňa. The project is in collaboration with Biela noc and partners include BKIS, Bratislava – the capital city, Bratislava Self-Governing Region
As for safety and hygiene measures, all visitors are obliged to follow the operational order, which will be made available to them on site. You enter the installation at your own risk! Please be considerate of other visitors when moving in the installation. Persons under 12 years of age can only enter and move around in the area when accompanied by their legal representative or another designated adult. The escort is responsible for the activities and safety of these persons. The maximum number of visitors in the installation at one time is limited 5 adult people or 7 children.
Operating Rules Consumption of food and drinks is prohibited in the market area.
Come and immerse yourself in a world where art meets nature, and discover the beauty of the union of these two worlds!
250 kg of already recycled PP plastic tape was used for the production of this large-scale work of art, which is created in a space with an area of approximately 300 m2.
This monumental work exhibited for 2 months creates for each of the estimated 30,000 visitors a carbon footprint comparable to driving a 100m car. Of course, the material from the installation will be used for the production of other art objects for the events of the Old Market, thereby reducing the carbon footprint even more.
We look forward to seeing you!
