Concert NefEsh Trio (Italy) – Jazz – Klezmer. Two Hebrew words – Nefesh/soul and Esh/fire form the basis of the name and the essence of the musical progression of this musical group. Unique sound, virtuosity and passion are the attributes that have won the trio thousands of fans since its inception.
The thrilling rhythms of the stringed instruments will take us to the country of their origin during the concert. Jewish music has always been rich in diverse influences, fusions, and hope.
Klezmer, Sephardic, Yemenite and Israeliana are the musical traditions that NefEsh draws from in creating its own compositions. In their music we find traces of jazz, Balkan music, tango, echoes of Arabic or folk music.
The trio was formed in 2006 when Daniele Davide Parziani (violin), Manuel Buda (guitar) and Davide Tedesco (double bass), musicians with classical training at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and musical experience in classical music, jazz and folk, joined forces.
The NefEsh music group has had many collaborations with artists such names as Malika Ayane, Eyal Lerner, Raiz, Anton Dressler, Lucia Bosè, the Milan Jewish Choir “Kol Ha Kolot”, the Israeli ensemble “Eve’s Women” the female vocal group of the Choir of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
They regularly perform in Italy and abroad, they have participated in the festivals Mar de Musicas de Cartagena (Spain), il Poestate Festival Lugano (Switzerland), il Festival “Jewish and the City” in Milan and the International Klezmer Festival in Safed (Israel). NefEsh also creates music for theatre, film, video art, and has soundtracks on Rai Radio 3, Radio Svizzera RSI 2 and Radio Monte Carlo.
Each NefEsh trio concert is a journey through the multifaceted landscape of Jewish music, a journey through territories where diverse time and geographical currents meet in the name of a creative freedom that touches us deeply.
