One World 2026 is coming to Bratislava! From October 20 to 25, 2026, join us at Kino Lumière for an extraordinary selection of documentary films, inspiring discussions, meetings with filmmakers, and powerful stories that open both eyes and hearts. ✨ The theme of the festival’s 27th edition is CONNECTION.
The current world order is falling apart. Society is becoming increasingly polarised, and tensions between oppressors and the oppressed are growing around the world. This year, we will explore how to break free from old systems of colonisation, domination and inequality, while building new connections based on trust, solidarity, resistance and mutual care.
The festival’s new visual identity features a ribbon, symbolising something that can both connect and bind us. At its centre is a photograph from the documentary Traces by Ukrainian director Alisa Kovalenko. This powerful film tells the stories of women who survived conflict-related sexual violence during Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The film will be screened at the festival in the presence of the director herself.
After the festival in Bratislava, One World moves online! A selection of documentaries will be available to stream from October 26 to November 1, 2026.
