Exhibition Corpo-ratio

Michal Černušák is one of the distinctive contemporary painters who are not afraid to criticize the world around him on his canvas, pointing his art finger at the world of mass-media information, capital and manipulation, the sickness of the powerful. His paintings often capture architectural objects, astronauts, beach parties and the American dream crumbling in front of you. Those themes seem to be picked randomly, although it is far from being true; doesn’t catastrophe start in in everydayness, in those small details in front of us? Danubiana had chosen some key paintings and the most recent Černušák work entitled Corpo-ratio to show you what is really going on there. Corpo-ratio is a critical mirror of the contemporary world of consumption, capital and media data, alarming but also not so serious at the same time. Don´t be too surprised to see Lego-type toy figures, toy soldiers, flying white owl and the “abduction” of a young woman by an American cowboy in other of his exhibited works – it is spectacular, we promise ?
