The popular event Knights on Devín returns to Bratislava, this time you can also admire knightly duels and past times on Devín.
We invite you to a real journey in time – after all, we will be transported from one period to another by about 1400 years!
In the middle of summer and holidays, you should treat yourself to an unusual experience – for example, at Devín Castle in the company of various historical figures, beautiful ladies and brave knights.

10:00 a.m. – Opening of the gates of Devín Castle
11:00 a.m. – Opening ceremony
12:00 p.m. – Performance of *Richard the Lionheart*
A fencing and theatrical medley dedicated to this significant figure of the Middle Ages and the events leading up to his capture in Austria.
1:00 p.m. – Renaissance dances
Set at a ball, this story reveals many human traits as well as the beauty of courtly Renaissance dance. What are noble ladies willing to do to win the attention of an important gentleman? Almost anything.
2:00 p.m. – Performance: The Secret of the Slavic Sword
A story set in a Slavic environment, connected to the archaeological discovery of an ancient sword.
3:00 p.m. – Krak the Jester and His Pranks
4:00 p.m. – Renaissance Knightly Tournament
A knightly tournament in the style of Italian “La giostra” tournaments. Four knights and their steeds compete for the audience’s favor in tests of skill and daring clashes in the knightly fray. Equestrian performances alternate with dance, pikemen drills, and fencing duels.
5:30 p.m. – Recital of period music, prose, and poetry
A selection of prose and poetry presented by fencing master Peter Kozu, accompanied by live music from the period.
6:30 p.m. – Closing ceremony
Featuring fencing duels, dancing, and waving banners
7:00 p.m. – End of the event and closing of the castle
Throughout the day, there will be all sorts of fun activities and entertainment:
🏹 archery range with bows, crossbows, and knife throwing
🐴 rides on a live horse and a wooden horse
🏐 a kids’ corner with various games (catapult, stilts, ring toss at a unicorn, ring toss at swords, ball toss at a dragon)
🥨 craft and merchandise stalls, food stand
🏰 After purchasing a ticket, in addition to the performances, you can also explore the entire castle grounds with all its beautiful nooks and crannies and interesting exhibits.
