The 19th edition of the 🇮🇹 Dolce Vitaj 2026 festival brings Italian culture to Slovakia through art, music, film, and design. The main organizer is the Italian Institute in Bratislava. You can look forward to exciting concerts, exhibitions, an Italian market, and much more.
🎨 Visual Arts
The exhibition “If It’s Coffee, It’s Italian!” focuses on coffee as an Italian cultural phenomenon—espresso, moka pots, and espresso machines as symbols of “Made in Italy.” The exhibition runs from June 10 to October 18 at the Slovak National Museum. Admission 6 €.
🎬 Film
The Cinevitaj film festival is dedicated to the Italian actress of Slovak origin, Barbora Bobulová. She will be introduced through her films A Bright Tomorrow, Forever Young and Beautiful, The Immature, and The Sacred Heart.
From May 15–24, you can discover and purchase typical Italian products, including regional specialties and culinary delicacies, accompanied by a musical program.
🎻 Music
The musical highlight will be a recital by Baroque violin virtuoso Valerio Losito on a 1775 Ferdinando Gagliano viola d’amore, taking place on June 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hall of Mirrors at the Primate’s Palace. The festival will culminate with the world premiere of a composition by Mauro Montalbetti.
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Zichy Palace, the young and talented guitarist Emanuele Schillaci will present a program featuring his own compositions and works by composers such as Aníbal Augusto Sardinha Garoto and Agustín Barrios Mangoré.
On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of Zichy Palace, Maestro Luigi Attademo, one of Italy’s most acclaimed guitarists, will showcase his mastery with works by classical composers such as Domenico Scarlatti, Paganini, Villa-Lobos, Giuliani, and Tárrega.
