AnimeSHOW 2024 is the 17th edition of the international pop culture festival with exhibition. The festival is dedicated to Anime, Comics, Japanese Culture, Scifi, Fantasy and KPOP. The festival includes a wide range of lectures, workshops, competitions and screenings of the latest films. The exhibition is dedicated to computer games, video games, board and card games, retro games and technology. The exhibition includes game competitions, developers, novelty shows and home-made games.
– A costume contest where participants show off their own costumes based on existing heroes from books, comics, movies and games.
– Slovak qualification of the international costume contest called Cosplay Champions, where the qualifier advances to the European finals.
– Amateur singing competition for those who can sing and those who lack self-criticism. It’s all about having fun.
– A theatrical competition where costumed participants perform a funny skit to entertain the audience.
– Slovak qualification of the International Dance and Singing Competition in Korean POP, where dancers and singers perform dancing and singing to choreography from an existing music video clip of that KPOP group or singer.
– A dance show in Korean POP where dancers perform a dance to their own or an existing combination of choreography from music video clips.
– Costume contest, where participants perform in costumes made based on their own idea or a combination of heroes in a new form.
– an animated music video competition, where the aim is to cut one or more animated films so that they make sense together with the music.
FanART & Original Art
Illustration competitions for painters. In the first category FanArt is allowed to use an existing work in a new image, in the second category OriginalArt must be a complete idea of your own.
IstroCON short story
IstroCON’s literary competition for the best short story within predefined categories. Judged in 2 rounds by an expert jury.
PhotoCon
A competition for photographers for the most beautiful cosplay photo. Contestants send in their photos, which may or may not be with edits and new backgrounds.
ActionPlay
A photo contest for action figure enthusiasts. Contestants send in their photos of action figures arranged in different settings and scenes.

The main program and its items listed below take place in several rooms divided by genre into the JAPAN SALOON (for Japan and Anime), KOREA SALOON (for KPOP and Pop Culture), FANTASY SALOON (for Fantasy and Horror), SCIFI SALOON (for Sci Fi), GAMES SALOON (for Games and Comics) and ECCHI SALOON (for Manga and Anime).

Lectures
Lectures by genre, almost 150 in total from experts on music, martial arts, fantasy worlds, creation, travel, writing, trivia, etc.
Workshops
A wide range of workshops where everyone can learn something or improve their skills in short story writing, drawing, Japanese cooking, historical dance, fencing, origami folding, game animation and much more.
Well-known personalities from the ranks of writers, actors, presenters, and illustrators regularly take part in the festival and then do autograph sessions.
New books, comics, films, albums and other creative endeavours by our artists.
Discussions with authors
Do you want to meet well-known personalities and discuss with them about their works, life, or a topic? That’s what our talks are for.
Competitions and Quizzes
The programme also includes various knowledge quizzes and creative competitions where everyone can win prizes or sweets.
Games & Tournaments
Games and games tournaments make up a large interactive part of the festival. Its focus is made to make this section suitable for every visitor and not only professionals. Thanks to its richness, it shows that games are not just about computers and consoles.
PC Games
The PC Games section is made up of a number of partners who provide their new PCs and Laptops for free play of new games as well as tournaments in the most popular games such as League of Legends, Counter Striek and the like.
PlayStation
SONY guarantees an always-new experience on its PlayStation consoles, Virtual Reality and handhelds, which host tournaments in mostly fighting games.
Nintendo
Nintendo is one of the oldest gaming companies in the world and also hails from Japan, bringing completely different types of games and experiences to the event than we’re familiar with on mainstream PCs and consoles.
Virtual Reality
As a technological marvel, Virtual Reality is slowly spreading through the world despite its higher price point. And that’s why you can try it out with your new gadgets for free.
Game Machines
Before the mass proliferation of home consoles and computers, there were gaming arcades with just slot machines, which were the technological marvel of the 70-90s era. Thanks to the cooperation with ARKADY.SK they bring you these museum games. Of course they are completely free.
Retro Games
Retro games from the 80-90’s have never lost their charm. Their simplicity is their beauty and proves that they are an art and entertainment that still has something to offer the new generation today.
Dance games
Games can also be played using movements, not just by sitting. Dance games are very popular with us, which is why we have a large selection of dance apparatus at the festival.
Indie Games
At the festival we give space to developers to showcase their latest games and we are very happy to give this space to small independent indie studios and their games.
Social Games
Social board games are a worldwide phenomenon and there are over 50,000 of them in the world. Thanks to our partner iHRYsko, you can choose and play from a wide range of these games.
Card games
A sub-genre of board games are Card Collecting Games, where each player collects cards and assembles their own deck. Alternatively, you can join tournaments in Magic The Gathering and Pokemon
GO & Shogi
These are two classic Japanese board games, both based on strategy and logical thinking. In a way, they are Japanese chess.
Galaxy ZEGA
Zega cars are a modern augmented reality game where you use your own phone to control a real combat car, choose its features, armaments and take on other players in a prepared arena.
Warhammer
Warhammer is a figure-based game where you use figures to build your own army and play a strategy game. The beautiful thing about this game is that you have to first build each piece from the parts of the game according to yourself and paint it. It’s fun and art all at once.

Superhero statues
The festival features various decorations and life-size statues of the Ninja Turtles and Lego Batman. Feel free to take a photo together.

Henna tattoo
Temporary henna tattoos are very popular in the world. The tattoo artist will tattoo anything as a memento, be it fantasy characters or Naruto anime.
Arrow Tag
This adrenaline sports game is played in 2 groups that hide behind obstacles and try to hit each other with arrows with a pillow instead of a spike.
LaserGame
It’s actually a live computer game. The game is played mostly in 2 groups that hide behind obstacles and try to hit each other with laser guns.
Historical Archery Range
The historical fencing group Vinedi provides a historical archery range for our visitors, where you shoot real arrows from a bow into the targets.
Falconers
The Devín Mini Zoo has an exhibition of birds of prey as well as hunting and flight demonstrations.
Horseback riding
Do you want to ride a horse? There is nothing more beautiful than the view of the world from horseback.

At every similar event abroad you will find several stalls offering festival-themed goods.
Shops
The biggest themed shops such as Brloh, iHRYsko, Pro Gaming Shop, Mad Maxon and Funtastic offering games, comics, manga, books, figurines, posters, t-shirts, mugs, plushies and other themed products.
Booths
In addition to the shops, you will also find booths of publishers and partner magazines dedicated to science fiction, fantasy and comics. which present their work and products.
Artist Alley
The Artist Alley features a variety of small independent creators who will mostly handcraft their work on site for you. Whether they draw a picture, a t-shirt, a bookmark, a sculpture, any other odds and ends.
Cosplay Booth
Cosplay is very popular with us, so we provide a place for individual cosplayers to meet their fans, or sign their photos and posters.

Is there any catering at the festival? Aren’t we starving to death? Don’t worry, we have a wide range of food and drink on offer.

From the beginning, thanks to the link to Japanese culture, the festival includes a teahouse where you can sit and relax in peace.

An integral part of the dining experience is the menu of Japanese cuisine, sushi, soups and desserts from Sushi Time and Gonsuke Ramen.
Restaurants
There are stable restaurants on the premises, These are the Poem and Bistro at Zitka, where you can have a decent meal in peace from the daily menu or the à la carte menu.
Fast Foody
Want to eat hot and fast? Here you’ll find a stall with classic gypsy, sausages, potato pancakes and kebabs, as well as pizza from Pizza Mizza and special hot dogs from New York Corner.
