From May 12 to November 30, 2026, the New Building of the National Museum will host an exhibition of the prestigious Czech Press Photo journalism competition, which presents almost 800 of the best journalistic photographs mapping the key events of the past period.

👉 The winning and nominated images of all competition categories, special awards, a selection of works by young authors from Czech Photo Junior, and this year’s Photo of the Year will be on display. This was a photo by Lukáš Kaboně from Deník from the series Miners’ Work at the ČSM-Sever Mine (OKD), capturing the symbolic end of the era of deep mining in the Ostrava region.

The exhibition brings powerful stories from home and abroad — from environmental topics to sports, culture, everyday life, and political events.

The exhibition will also include an autumn accompanying program: guided tours and Day with Czech Press Photo.

Every year, this event brings the best of Czech and foreign reportage photography and offers a unique view of the events of the past year through the lenses of talented photographers.

The exhibition will feature not only the winning images, but also other selected photographs that represent the main social, cultural and political moments of the last year. In total, over 800 printed photographs will be exhibited. The exhibition will present the work of male and female authors who will share their vision of the world through their lenses.

The exhibition will also include a rich accompanying program that will offer discussions with photographers, workshops and other activities focused on reportage photography. The event is organized in cooperation with the National Museum and will give visitors a deeper insight into the world of journalistic photography.

This year there is also the Czech Photo Junior category, aimed at young authors from primary and secondary schools.
