Halloween at the Botanical Garden

The Autumn Pumpkin Exhibition will take place from October 10 to November 2, 2025, in the Ornamental Garden and the Forest exhibition.

This year, the exhibition will take on a spooky theme, transforming the garden into a fairytale forest full of witches, spiders, will-o’-the-wisps, and other creatures from the world of fantasy. Visitors can also look forward to a haunted castle and a themed maze.

Original pumpkin arrangements will be created by students of the Czech Gardening School in Mělník under the guidance of Petra Křížová in cooperation with the garden’s staff. In addition to traditional pumpkins of all colors and sizes, there will be imaginative decorations inspired by fairytale beings and ghosts, enhancing the magical autumn atmosphere.

The exhibition will be complemented by a weekend program:
October 11–12 – Pumpkin Games
October 18–19 – Creative Workshops
October 25–26 – Pumpkin Carving

All accompanying events will take place in the covered exhibition hall, so visitors can enjoy them regardless of the weather.

The grand finale is set for October 31, when the garden will shine with a lantern parade and a Halloween celebration for both children and adults. On the weekend of November 1–2, there will be extended opening hours until 7:00 PM, illuminated pumpkin installations, and food stalls available throughout the day.
