On the first weekend in May, the VIENNA GIN FESTIVAL returns to Vienna for its 2024 edition to present the best gin creations for fans of this smooth liqueur. This time, however, it is set to be even bigger, better and tastier. With new ideas and additional surprises, you will have the opportunity to taste the best gins, tonics and everything that goes with them. The festival takes place over two days at the Semperdepot and offers you lots of fun, a good atmosphere and, of course, the tastiest and most refreshing drinks.

The European Street Food Festival is a unique event where exhibitors from all over the world come together to offer various gastronomic delights. Sample delicious burgers, Vietnamese street food, crêpes, waffles and much more. Thai or Mexican, burgers or sushi, grilled or cooked food, healthy organic food, vegan & vegetarian food, cupcakes, crêpes and of course delicacies from the national cuisine – they are all offered by the many exhibitors from home and abroad and freshly prepared on site.
The Mauthausen Committee Austria (MKO) is organising the Festival of Joy for the twelfth time on 8 May 2024 at 19:30. This year’s theme is ‘Law and Justice under National Socialism’. The speech by contemporary witness Rosa Schneeberger will be the highlight of the celebrations. Katharina Stemberger will once again accompany the Festival of Joy, which will end with Ludwig van Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’. Visit this year’s Festival of Joy and take part in the celebrations to mark the end of the Second World War.
The Vienna Citrus Days are taking place for the 22nd time in the Palm House in Schönbrunn Palace Park. This great event is taking place for the 22nd time. Look forward to special plants, orange and lemon varieties that you have probably never seen before (except at the Citrus Days), taste them and enjoy the wide range of products on offer from traders who have travelled to Vienna especially for the event. Plants, processed fruit, books and other items will be on sale.

The SLASH Film Festival Vienna is taking place this May in a smaller version than in October, this time at the Filmcasino and METRO Kinokulturaus. There are plenty of horror and fantasy films to watch here. Look forward to scary and gruesome images on the big screen. So if you like being spooked, this is the right event for you.
At the Wiener Genuss Festival, the best Austrian food producers and small manufacturers invite you to savour delicacies in one of the city’s most beautiful parks. In addition to around 100 exhibitors, top local chefs serve regional specialities in the gourmet tent. Entry to the festival is free.
