The Night of Architecture and Design is a student project that showcases the most interesting things that have been created at the faculty over the last semester.
A night full of architecture, design and urbanism. It is a multi-genre platform that provides a glimpse into the heart of what is happening at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of STU.
During this evening event, the entire faculty building will be transformed into a gallery, where the studio works of students will be exhibited with the ambition to show the professional and general public the results of the creation of a large range of projects.
The main lecture of this year’s Architecture Night will be dedicated to the Czech designer Tobias Schubert. This talented young designer, a student of the fashion design studio at UMPRUM in Prague, was previously an intern for fashion designer Vanda Janda and renowned Czech designer Jan Černý.
At this year’s spring edition of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week, he presented himself for the first time under his own label Tobias Equipment. Tobias is characterized by working with unconventional non-garment and clothing materials or distinctive graphics. He is also known as the author of special costumes for musical performers such as Yzomandias, Rytmus, Ego, Nik Tendo or Viktor Sheen.
The summer edition will kick off with the announcement of the results of the FAD STU Dean’s Award for the best student work for the ending academic year 2023/2024.
At the invitation of the Student Platform, architects Kilo Honč, creative events creator Martin Brix, designer Sebastián Komáček, designer Kornélia Lohynová, Juraj Hariš from Nová cvernovka and o.z. will present themselves within the KucaPaca format. Hold the Hub!, and director and visual artist Roland Wranik. All of them and other guests will not focus on their greatest successes in their short presentations, but rather on those projects that did not live up to expectations or were literally unsuccessful.
The Architecture Night will also include a number of other activities, including an exhibition associated with the ISOVER Architecture Student Contest 2024 and the Progressive Technologies in Architecture Awards. You can also look forward to the premiere of Singularch, a documentary about architecture. DJ Neraev and DJ Fomo will provide music in the car park.
The night is traditionally a long one for architects and designers, so after the official program, they will move on to an afterparty at the Šafko Club called Ponocovanie. Unlike the traditional party, the backstage will be used for the music program, where bands from the faculty’s student council will perform in secret backstage concerts.
