If you are in Budapest on September 25–26, be sure to check out the Fecskehajó Festival, taking place for the first time this year at the Buda Vigadó and in the surrounding streets! This two-day event brings together folk art, music, dance and contemporary culture, with plenty of interactive and community activities.
Friday, September 25
The festival kicks off in the morning, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the program throughout the day. You can browse the craft stalls at the festival market and take part in various craft workshops and community art activities.
During the day, visitors can explore the “Telling Objects” tactile exhibition, as well as special guided tours and educational programs. As part of the festival, you can also choose from several events connected to Researchers’ Night.
For more relaxed activities, there will be a storytelling tent, a giant puzzle, a family treasure hunt, activities by Fabatka Porta and Merende Műhely, as well as a food corner.
In the afternoon and evening, music and dance take center stage, with concerts, festive performances and special dance-house events. The evening will also feature unique performances and video mapping, creating a spectacular atmosphere.
Saturday, September 26
The second day offers even more activities. In the morning, the festival market, craft workshops and community activities continue, making it a great option for spending a few hours exploring the festival.
Throughout the day, visitors can once again choose from workshops, exhibitions, guided tours and educational talks, while the surrounding streets come alive with music and dance.
One of the highlights of the day will be a musical parade, bringing the streets around the Buda Vigadó to life with music and dancing. Afterwards, you can return to the festival area for more concerts and dance performances.
In the evening, the festival will end with spectacular outdoor performances, video mapping and festive shows.
